Crionna Awarded UK Innovation Grant
to Develop Novel Electronic Data Capture System
13 March The Crionna
Data Management team are delighted at reaching the
first stage of development of specialised tools to improve clinical trial
quality and timelines. Scottish Enterprise have today awarded the
company a Small Company Innovation Scheme grant to help
develop TARDICE, a hand held data
collection system for doctors running clinical trials.
This system will improve the speed of collection and the quality of data input allowing clincians to spend more time with their patients.
Crionna have
teamed up with BEAT systems an innovative IT company to
develop the software for TARDICE. BEAT
has a proven track record in developing this system for
the police and other security companies where high speed

Crionna Launches 200 patient
Study to Validate TARDICE
15 June Crionna
enlisted the help of surgeons in Birmingham to test
TARDICE in it's first clinical trial.
It is hoped that the process of data collection from
over 200 patients will be improved using the advanced
electronic data capture tool. This study will provide a
unique and valuable insight into the comparative
advantages and disadvantages of both paper and
electronic form completion. Data will be uploaded
directly into a data base without the need for
transcription. Physicians are enthusiastic about the
potential time savings and portability of the system.
